By the last week of the month, the three personal planets that describe how we think, love and act are all in one sign, and two of them are moving backwards.

That makes October a month for revision rather than new starts in love, money and communication. Retrogrades don't cancel anything. They bring back what was left unfinished: a relationship question, a debt, a contract, a conversation that went badly. Things you settle properly now tend to stay settled.

Venus retrograde: love and money under review

Venus retrograde runs from October 3 to November 14. It starts in Scorpio, the sign of intimacy, shared resources and trust, and on October 25 backs into Libra, the sign of partnership and fairness. In practice the first three weeks bring up deeper questions (jealousy, dependence, joint money, what you really want from someone). The last week turns to the terms of relationships: who gives what, and whether it is balanced.

On October 24 the Sun and Venus meet at 0°45′ Scorpio. This is the midpoint of the retrograde, when a new Venus cycle begins. It is often the moment a relationship question becomes clear. Venus square Mars on October 10 and Venus square Pluto on October 20 are the most intense days for relationship tension.

Mercury in Scorpio: from research to revision

Mercury spends the entire month in Scorpio, which suits research, investigation and difficult conversations. It squares Mars and Pluto on October 2. That makes the first days of the month sharp and argumentative. Mercury meets retrograde Venus on October 7, which is good for honest talks about feelings and money. From October 24 Mercury is retrograde as well: check contracts, back up files, and give travel plans extra margin until November 13.

Mars and Jupiter in Leo: confidence and visibility

Mars and Jupiter spend all of October in Leo. This brings courage, generosity and a wish to be seen. Mars opposes Pluto on October 3, a power struggle or pressure peak early in the month. On October 16 Mars trines Saturn, one of the most productive days of the month for steady, disciplined work. The same day Pluto stations direct at 3°04′ Aquarius, and stalled long-term changes start moving again. Mars and Jupiter meet exactly on November 16, so their combined push builds through the second half of October.

New Moon in Libra and Full Moon in Taurus

The New Moon on October 10 at 17°21′ Libra is the month's best start for agreements, partnerships and anything that needs balance and fair terms. With Venus, Libra's ruler, retrograde, it favors renewing an old agreement over signing a brand-new one.

The Full Moon on October 26 at 2°45′ Taurus completes a cycle around money, comfort and values. It falls two days after the Sun–Venus meeting and a day after Venus returns to Libra, so financial and relationship matters that surfaced earlier in the month tend to come to a head.
